The island of Tahiti, towering over the ocean like a proud and royal Queen, is crowned by a circle of majestic peaks and skirted by black velvet beaches and pink coral reefs. The mountainous interior shelters iridescent slivers of Mother Nature's light. The flat coastal lands, edge with a rugged coastline, are home to fields of tropical flowers and most of the island’s population. The turtle-shaped island is the largest of the 118 islands that comprise French Polynesia.
